Is your child reluctant to read? Do you feel like the school does not understand how your child learns?

This is where I can help! Students with dyslexia and other reading challenges need an explicit, structured, multi-sensory approach to learn to read. I teach students reading using the Orton-Gillingham Approach. This is an evidence-based approach which has been shown to be effective for all learners, and essential for students who have dyslexia. Students learn each concept through the visual, auditory and kinesthetic pathways, increasing the opportunities for their brains to assimilate new skills.
TESTIMONIALS

“Our daughter has made significant progress because of Ms. Pollock. We can honestly say that there is no other portion of her school day or any outside therapeutic support that has had such a positive and life-changing impact. Our daughter has a complicated learning profile, but Ms. Pollock has been able to reach her strengths, and target her weaknesses consistently for sustained academic growth."
Colleen Reynolds, Kindergarten Teacher and Dr. Darrin Reynolds, Principal

I never would've imagined that my daughter could improve this quickly! She is now reading at her grade level and loves to read!

"Aviva taught Orton-Gillingham lessons to two third grade students [at Lilja]…Both students made two years’ worth of progress in reading levels in one year…Aviva is well planned and develops structured lessons that are targeted and engaging."

VIRTUAL ORTON-GILLINGHAM TUTORING
Tutoring sessions are usually 45 minutes. However, for some students it's beneficial to break sessions into two shorter sessions. Contact me for a free consultation. Every student starts with an informal assessment which enables me to pinpoint the gaps in her foundational skills.
